The highly anticipated return of the DuBois Challenger Baseball season is almost here!
Opening Day: April 27, 2021 @ 6:00PM
In the early months of 2020, the DuBois Challenger division was eagerly gearing up for their season.
A record number of athletes had registered, both returning participants and new.
Planning began.
Jerseys were designed.
Schedules made.
Teams drafted.
What noone had planned for was the world to come to a screeching halt.
As the regularly scheduled opening day drew near, league organizers absorbed as much information as they could to make an educated decision about the 2020 season. The DuBois Little League was forging ahead, creating a safe, but abbreviated season for their other divisions, but for the Challenger division, it was too big a risk. Many Challenger athletes have medical complexities and sensory aversion that prompted the cancelation of the 2020 season out of extreme caution and safety of all players and their families.
That heartbreaking decision for the 2020 season has led the Challenger Division to the most anticipated season yet.
2021 registrations have even exceeded 2020 numbers!
After the Senior League expansion in 2019, we have grown once again.
Introducing… Team Dynamite! The fourth, and newest, Challenger Little League team.
As the first pitch is thrown out on Tuesday, April 27th, a new season begins.
For 66 athletes, they will step up to bat, once again.
For 31 athletes, they are finally going to get their first opportunity to swing the bat, run the bases, and chase those fly balls.
These amazing individuals can be seen playing on Tuesdays and Thursday at Heindl Field, beginning at 6PM.
You better hurry, as the season begins April 27th and ends July 1st.
Their social media accounts are abuzz with players, families, and friends sharing their excitement for the return to Heindl!
